'Battlefield 5' release date news updates: A holiday 2016 launch expected?

"Battlefield 5" has become one of the most anticipated video games that are rumored to come out in 2016; however the game developer, Electronic Arts Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment or EA DICE, has continued to stay silent with regard to the game's official release date.

New rumors have emerged and fans could not wait to hear it from the company itself. After announcing that the first-person shooter will have a new sequel, players got very excited to know what is in store for the next project.

As of the moment, there is no exact release date provided by EA DICE; however, it was already confirmed by them in 2014 that the new installment won't be released until late 2016.

In the recent Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference in February, EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen revealed that "Battlefield 5" should be in the market already before or during the Holiday season this year.

Meanwhile, speculations about the gameplay details are all over the internet but most of them came from fans who could not hide their excitement of the next installment. However, in 2014, during the UBS Global Technology Conference, Jorgensen teased players what to expect from the four<sup>th sequel.

"That will be a return to a Battlefield military-style game; more to come on that," he said.

There were reports that before the "Battlefield 4" was released in 2013, EA DICE has already thought about the development of "Battlefield 5." During an interview with the New York Times just after the release of the current installment, "Battlefield" series executive producer Patrick Bach said that the next episode will be more exciting.

"More features. More extras. More destruction," the executive producer said. "Every new game needs to be the next big thing."

Fans are certainly expecting a different game once the new installment finally comes out on the market.
