Batman vs Superman is the second installment of the rebooted Superman movie series and stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. In the film as the title suggests Batman and Superman will be pitted against one another in some way.

Since the announcement of the film, there have been several controversies surrounding the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. However, the biggest casting controversy was kicked off when it was announced that Ben Affleck would play Batman, after which an online petition was launched requesting the studio to recast the role of Batman. Several thousand people eventually signed the petition as they felt that Affleck would not "do the role justice".

Since the casting controversies, filming has commenced and images were released of Affleck in his Batman costume. Recently Affleck in an interview to The Hollywood Reported reassured people that his stint as Batman would be nothing like the movie Daredevil.

That particular movie was panned by critics, hated by fans and did badly at the box office. It was also a major reason why several fans did not want Affleck to play Batman.

Affleck went on to state that "he has regrets about Daredevil and he would picket himself if he was making a sequel to that movie".

He also mentions that he feels good about the prospects about Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice when compared to other superhero films such as Avengers.

As for the release date of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Hollywood Reporter mentions that it has been pushed up from May 2016 to March 25. This change was done to avoid a clash with Captain America 3 that is due to release in the same weekend of May.

The filming of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice has been continuing and recently The Guardian Liberty Voice, reported scenes were being shot in locations near Detroit.
