'Batman: The Telltale Series' release date news 2016: Launch confirmed, world trailer reveals gameplay

The first installment of "Batman: The Telltale Series" is all set to be launched next month, and a new world trailer has been released to give fans a glimpse of the stellar gameplay.
According to the PlayStation blog, Telltale's version of Batman is unique because of how Bruce Wayne and Batman's identities will be explored. The series will let players take control of Bruce's fractured character and discover the repercussions of every decision as the Dark Knight — splitting time equally for the two characters. "It's a gritty and violent new story in which you'll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne's world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City," an excerpt from the blog reads.
Compared to other "Batman" incarnations, Telltale's Batman as its own place in the hero's timeline. In an interview during E3, Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner spoke about the game's unique time setting. "It starts in a familiar place," he told The Verge, "but it does not end in a familiar place."
The game's talented cast includes veteran voice actor Troy Baker as Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. As of now, there is still no sign of the Joker or any other popular "Batman" villain. However, the Dark Knight's story will never be complete without them which means that their arrival can be expected in future episodes.
Episode 1 of "Batman: A Telltale Series" is set to be released on Tuesday, Aug. 2 across several platforms such as Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and other compatible mobile phones. A retail release is scheduled for September which entitles gamers to buy all five episodes as they arrive. Meanwhile, a physical release called the Season Pass Disc will be priced at $29.99.
