'Batman: Return to Arkham' release date news 2016: Collection gets official launch date; Comparison video showcases exciting improvements

"Batman: Return to Arkham" will be released on Oct. 18. This was revealed in a comparison video released by Rocksteady Studios and WB Games.
Originally scheduled to be released in July, the remastered collection was delayed so that developer Virtuos Games can buy "additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience."
Now, the studio appears to have successfully ironed out the performance issues in "Batman: Return to Arkham" with the collection ready for its long-awaited unveiling next month.
The remaster bundle includes improved versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City," released in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
The titles were originally built using the Unreal Engine 3, but the ones in "Batman: Return to Arkham" used Unreal Engine 4, allowing for a much better graphics experience, which was noticeable in the comparison video.
Overall, gamers will notice more detail in the environment as well as the characters. Batman's costume in the remastered version is much darker and Nerdist notes that his face is much more accurate.
Forbes notes that the PlayStation 3 version of the Joker featured was much better in terms of detail than the one on "Batman: Return to Arkham." However, the shirt of the villain on the latter looks way better than the first one.
The site also makes note of how better Penguin looks in the remastered version. With regards to Catwoman, her costume is definitely more elaborately detailed in the remaster.
The site also says that the textures, lighting and fire effects are much better on the PlayStation 4 than they were in the older version.
Nerdist points out that the "Batman: Return to Arkham" aims to match the vibe of "Batman: Arkham Knight" released last year. That way, it will be a seamless transition across the three.
"Batman: Return to Arkham" will officially be available on Oct. 18.
