Baby moving, breathing after attempted abortion, 911 audio recording reveals

A newly released audio captured by 911 proves that a baby aborted in an Arizona termination facility was alive after it was taken out.

In February, the baby's mother attempted to have her child aborted at the Family Planning Associates in Phoenix. She was at 21 weeks of pregnancy which, according to Arizona law, is legal for abortion.

The 27-year-old woman was instructed to take an abortifacient two days prior to the procedure, which she dutifully followed. The abortifacient should have stopped the baby's heartbeat inside the womb, but it didn't.

Rumors circulated that the baby was alive when it came out but died in the hospital soon after. However, abortionist Eleanor Stanley insisted the baby had no heartbeat. The story reached pro-life groups, and an investigation was conducted regarding the issue.

The recently released 911 audio recording serves as confirmation that the baby was indeed born alive.

A clinic staff apparently saw the baby moving on the scale and exclaimed, "Oh my God, this fetus is moving."

The staff immediately called 911 and asked that help be sent to care for the "fetus."

"We are a termination clinic. There was a termination that was performed," the staff explained, according to a report. "There is a fetus who is breathing right now so we need someone to do services."

The 911 dispatcher asked if the baby was harmed, and the clinic staff said "the fetus is breathing," emphasizing their facility does not have the necessary equipment to care for it.

The baby was taken to a hospital, where it died after a few minutes.

Several years ago, pro-life group Live Action conducted an undercover investigation on the same clinic. A woman who was 23 weeks pregnant went to the facility posing as someone interested in abortion. She asked what the facility would do in case the baby was born alive.

"Usually it stops on its own," she was told, with an assurance that the baby would not be resuscitated. The pregnant woman was also discouraged from calling 911.

This made Live Action wonder why the clinic staff decided to make the 911 call in this case.

"It could be that due to Live Action's investigation, the worker knew they were being watched very carefully by pro-lifers," Live Action said in a report.

Termination facilities are required by law to provide care for babies that have survived abortion.
