"Attack on Titan" season 2 might not premiere this year due to a number of delays in the production, but fans are still patiently waiting for their favorite anime series to return.

According to spoiler reports, the sophomore season might introduce a new breed of Titans in the plot. It remains to be seen what kind of Titans will be added, but fans can expect to see more storylines for the humanoid creatures since there will be a "Clash of Titans" arc. There is also a possibility that their origins will be featured, in order to give viewers an idea about how they became the monsters that they are. Rumor has it that the notorious Armored Titan named Reiner and the Colossal Titan named Bertolt will be in the next season to bring more trouble to the humans.

iDigital Times reports that Beast Titan will also be in the story, and his intelligence along with his ability to communicate with humans makes him a greater threat to everyone. In the manga series, the Beast titan looks like an ape when in Titan form. His human name is Zeke and he has curly blonde hair.

On other related news, Japanese game developers from Koei Tecmo admit that they are still surprised to see how the franchise gained so much popularity in the West. "We didn't realize it was even that popular here in America," a representative said. According to Inverse, "Attack on Titan" broke the trend which most anime and manga series follow nowadays, making it a standout among the other franchises. With its macabre theme and anti-anime (correctly proportioned women, decidedly unattractive male leads) character appearance, "Attack on Titan" quickly gained popularity among fans all over the world. The series is also known to kill off a number of popular characters, earning its title as the "Game of Thrones" of the anime industry.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 still has no official release date as of this moment, but there are speculations that the anime series will premiere sometime next year.
