Usually recognized by its Japanese title "Shingeki no Kyojin," "Attack on Titan" has been a hit anime series especially to hardcore fans of its original manga counterpart.

The production of season 2 recently hit a wall because of a production delay, but rumor has it that the much-awaited series will be up for release late this year.

One of the most devastating spoilers for the upcoming season might be Levi Ackerman's death. He is a fan-favorite and well-loved protagonist so if the rumors were true, his death would really change the course of the series.

According to Chinatopix, new Titans will be introduced, such as "Colossal Titan" and "Armoured Titan." Also noted by the media outlet, anime series director Tetsuro Araki recently went public to give anticipating fans an update on the anime series production. Araki said that the team involved is being extra cautious with the second season, and that they are ready to face any challenge that might come their way while working on the show.

Furthermore, he explained that animating the manga's lead character is "nothing short of a cultural challenge." With each of the characters having a significant historical value, they make sure it is known by people involved in production for them to not make any mistakes.

As confirmed by the director, the season 2 of "Attack on Titan" is now at full speed so fans need not worry about another delay. Additionally, fans will be happy to know that the production team is working on a "superb climax" sure to make the long wait worth it. No word yet on an official release date, but the anime series director hinted that a 2016 release is very possible, given that the production is now in full swing. "Attack on Titan" is expected to return to TV screens sometime later this year.
