'Attack on Titan' Season 2 news, updates: Production on-going as director promises an in-depth storyline

Several fans of the groundbreaking anime series "Attack on Titan" have been wanting to know more about the show's upcoming second season amidst reports that the on-going production of season 2 has met some problems along the way. But fans can breathe a sigh of relief for now as latest reports suggest that the production is pushing through despite the problems.

As reported in Yibada, the scheduled release of "Attack on Titan" season 2 this year had to be pushed back in order for the anime series to stay in pace with the original manga series of the same name. It was noted that the manga's storyline is only a few chapters ahead of the anime series' story where the first season ended. "Attack on Titan" anime series director Tetsuro Araki stated that he and his team are mindful of the fans' expectations so they would not want to proceed with the production by creating filler episodes for season 2 as much as possible because that would be a letdown for the avid viewers of both anime and manga series.

It is now reported that Araki and the "Attack on Titan" original manga series author Hajime Isayama are now properly coordinated and have been hearing the requests of the fans for more information regarding the anime series' second season. The two has revealed some details on the status of the anime series' production. As of writing, the production of "Attack on Titan" season 2 is on-going.

"It's rare to adapt manga with a storyline that's this impressive, so I will be extra cautious. Whether it's season 1 or season 2, I'll be mentally prepared to face the production challenges," Araki revealed in an exclusive interview with Japanese-based Bessatsu Shonen magazine for the April edition (via Yibada).

Araki promised that their adaptation of the successful manga series will be much in-depth as the anime series goes to the second season, and he will exert more effort to make Season 2 satisfying for the fans.

The rumored storyline for season 2 as reported by Vine Report is going to involve Eren finding out the origin of his abilities and the "wall of titans" that was introduced at the end of season 1.
