'Attack on Titan' season 2 news: Premiere on halt until manga version is finished

Followers of "Attack on Titan" will have to wait more as its supposed premiere will have to be moved to a later but still unspecified date.

According to reports, the reason behind the production delay is the lack of story arcs needed in order to remain parallel with the manga version.

The success of "Attack on Titan" season 1 can be attributed to its alignment with the manga's plotline. Told without filler episodes, the story flow is connected and organized because it kept true to its manga counterpart. The first season set the bar high for fans; hence Season 2 is under more pressure if it can deliver as well as its predecessor.

Franchise creator Hajime Isayama and anime series director Tetsuro Aaraki both mentioned how the manga counterpart should remain four story arcs ahead of the series. On the other hand, the manga is only two story arcs ahead of the anime series at this time. This entails that season 2 cannot be completed unless Tetsuro Aaraki creates original content which will disrupt the series' alignment with the manga.

Loyal fans might be disappointed, but rumor has it that they would rather wait longer than have the quality of season 2 compromised. As the "Attack on Titan" series is still in its early stages, avid fans should not worry because season 2 will be more action-packed, making all the anticipation worth it. Furthermore, the identities of the armored titan and the colossal titan will be revealed this coming season, with hints that these two characters have a close association with Eren Jaeger. Death also awaits for some key characters in season 2, including the last season's strongest fighter Levi Ackerman.

Meanwhile, loyal fans can play the "Attack on Titans" -inspired game developed by Koei Tecmo. Scheduled for release this year, fans will have more meat to sink their teeth into with the game's new dialogues and scenes from the anime's cast.
