'Attack on Titan 2' release date news: Sequel is still in production; Anime will be ready for a late 2016 roll out?

"Shingeki no Kyojin" is how they called "Attack on Titan" in the great country of Japan. The second installment of the popular anime series is said to be under production these days and according to reports, it is slated to come out this year.
During his recent interview with Bessatsu Shonen, a famous Japanese magazine, Anime director Tetsuro Araki shared his thoughts about where they are right now with the sequel. The context of the interview was translated by Fuku Shuu. Shonen mentioned that his team is currently doing their best to finish the production and make sure they deliver an exciting creation once it rolls out to the audience.
"It's rare to adapt manga with a storyline that's this impressive, so I will be extra cautious," Araki said. "Whether it's season 1 or season 2, I'll be mentally prepared to face the production challenges."
He also added that they are definitely experiencing challenges in the project especially in making sure they do justice in recreating the anime series for the TV audience.
"To animate Shingeki no Kyojin is a cultural undertaking, and because I understand that this is work that will have historical value, I absolutely cannot make mistakes. I'll continue to treat it as an extensive series that requires much in-depth investigation and design," the director said.
Akari also said that they have been involved in constant discussion with Hajime Isayama, manga creator. According to him, his team and Isayama are trying to come up with a good plot so that they can provide the best adaptation for the sequel.
Although both Akari and Isayama could not provide specific release date details for the upcoming season two of "Attack on Titan," fans and critics are hopeful that the production will wrap up anytime soon, just in time for the late 2016 release.
