Asus Zenbook 3 vs Macbook Pro 2016 specs review: How does one compare to the other? A quick comparison of notable features

What gives when it comes to the Asus Zenbook 3 vs MacBook Pro 2016 debate? Well, sources say Asus might just have created the ultimate MacBook killer.
Asus recently unveiled the Zenbook 3 at Computex 2016, and everyone in attendance was drawn towards the new laptop that boasts of ultra-sylphlike design and astounding specifications. This has led many to speculate whether Apple's latest MacBook has finally met its direct rival.
Trusted Reviews gave an in-depth comparison of the two, listing down several aspects that could spell the difference between Asus Zenbook 3 vs MacBook Pro 2016, which included design, performance, and connectivity.
Apple's MacBook 2016 looked to be one of the most portable laptops in the market today at 13mm thick at its widest and weighing 970 g, but the Asus ZenBook 3 might have gotten the better of the former, as it weighs just 910 g and measures a slim 11.9 mm. As far as color choices go, the MacBook is available in four colors – Gold, Space Grey, Silver, and Rose Gold – while the ZenBook comes in Royal Blue, Rose Gold, and Quartz Grey.
When it comes to display, the MacBook packs a punch with its 12-inch screen that features a 2,304 x 1,440-pixel resolution or a sharp 226 pixels per inch (ppi) of screen. On the other hand, the ZenBook 3's screen is a shade bigger at 12.5 inches, but it merely boasts a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, or 176ppi. Trusted Reviews notes that the difference could account for a disparity where color vibrancy is concerned.
Game n Guide notes that the most affordable model of ZenBook 3, with a starting price of $999, features an Intel Core i5 processor, 256 GB SSD and 4 GB of RAM while its mid-range offering priced at $1,499 will feature an Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD. Its premium line, priced at $1,999, will feature a Core i7 processor, 1 TB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
According to Trusted Reviews, MacBook doesn't compete on said aspect, as it uses more efficient yet least powerful Core M processors from Intel. Nevertheless, it does come with the standard 256 GB or 512 GB solid-state storage and 8 GB of memory.
CNET has noted that connectivity-wise, the Asus Zenbook 3 vs Macbook Pro 2016 comparison may be at par, with both being fitted with a single USB Type-C connector. However, Trusted Reviews said that Asus may start offering more options such as a standard USB, a 3-in-1 card reader, and an additional USB Type-C and HDMI ports.
Speculations are rife that both the Asus ZenBook 3 and MacBook Pro 2016 will be released sometime in the third or fourth quarter of the year.
