Information about the forthcoming "Assassin's Creed" game is scarce, but according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, the game is currently in development. A release date has not been set because the development team is taking the time to revolutionize the game's IP.

In an interview with Guillemot which was mainly about the possibility of Vivendi assuming full control over the company, the CEO managed to answer a few questions about the alleged "Assassin's Creed" sequel.

GameSpot pointed out that it's been the first year in a long time wherein the video game developers did not release an "Assassin's Creed." The CEO was asked why they decided to take it out of the rotation.

Guillemot responded, "What we saw in the development of the next Assassin's Creed was that we had an opportunity to take it to another level. So we said we'll take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic. It was feasible because we have other games. There's a huge potential in this game to revolutionize the IP, so we said, let's make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience."

Guillemot made it clear that the development team is not trying to beat a deadline. The game is currently in the works but a release date has not been set. The developers are reportedly taking their time, and will announce the launching date once the game is ready for the public.

Although recent speculations point out that the game is slated for release in 2017, the CEO did not even confirm if the game will be released anytime next year because it might take an even longer process to revolutionize the game.

The original game was released in 2007 which was sent in the Third Crusades. Meanwhile, the latest installment to the franchise is "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," which was launched in 2015.
