'Assassin's Creed' and 'Splinter Cell' movie sequels confirmed, new AC game to be released January 2017?

Catchplay CEO Daphne Yang recently confirmed that both "Assassin's Creed" and "Splinter Cell" movie sequels are in the works.
During Catchplay's launching of a pan-Asian streaming video service, Daphne Yang said, "They are both adaptations of successful Ubisoft games and would make ideal sequels."
Without even debuting the first installment of the films, reports say that an "Assassin's Creed" sequel is already in progress. The film is expected to hit the big screen on Dec. 21, with Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons to play the key characters in the story. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie is set to be released in North America as well as to multiple other territories on the above-mentioned date.
"Splinter Cell" is set to be released this coming 2017, with Tom Hardy reprising his role under the direction of Doug Liman.
According to reports, "The Assassin's Creed" movie will make its way to the theaters on December 21 with Michael Fassbender and co-star Marion Cotillard. Meanwhile, the release date for "The Splinter Cell" movie sequel is not too definitive as of now. However, rumor has it that the film will be out in theaters around next year, as reported by Gazette review. Other reports claimed that a second installment for "Assassin's Creed" movie is in the talks, and he then explained that Fassbender will reprise his role.
In January 10 2015, three movies namely "Splinter Cell," "Assassin's Creed," and "The Revenant,' were part of a deal made between New Regency and Catchplay, the films' Taiwanese co-financier.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that an "Assassin's Creed" game might be released on January 2017 following a report by Variety. However, Ubisoft has yet to officially announce if they will be releasing another installment to the "Assassin's Creed" game series. Gamespot sees it as rather odd for Ubisoft to have a launch in January, since most of their previous releases happen in the fall.
