'Ash vs Evil Dead' season 2 spoilers: New in-depth trailer released, EP teases 'more ambitious' storyline

"Ash Vs. Evil Dead" season 2 will see Ash (Bruce Campbell) return to his small hometown of Elk Grove as the story delves deeper into his past. A new trailer for the show has been released, giving an in-depth look at what lies ahead for the chainsaw-wielding hero and the rest of his crew.
The second season will force former enemies Ash and Ruby (Lucy Lawless) into an unlikely alliance as they face a bigger threat. Meanwhile, Ash will come back to his home to rekindle his relationship with his estranged father Brock Williams (Lee Major). The latest clip featured behind-the-scene footages and gave insights on the new Ash-Ruby partnership. Furthermore, it also gave a glimpse of the popular cabin incident that happened decades ago.
Campbell recently caught up with Comingsoon.net to share teasers on his character's new mission. According to the actor/producer, Ash will have to fix the mess he left three years ago. He has to make peace with the town he left in shambles and save it once again. Aside from his grumpy father, Ash must also deal with his old friend Chet, his former girlfriend as well as his old nemeses.
Speaking with IGN, executive producer Rob Tapert hinted that season 2 will be "far bigger and more ambitious" than its predecessor. "From a production point of view, the stories are much bigger, the cast is larger," he continued. "It's still Evil Dead-like, but the canvas is broader this season. So I think that the writers have posited some really good things, and we've been able to embellish this season, what was in the scripts, and make a really wild, visceral ride for the audience."
The second season of "Ash Vs. Evil Dead" premieres on Oct. 2 on Starz.
