During last week's Television Critics Association summer press tour, the veteran TV star mentioned that he is familiar with the popular film franchise, but expressed a different appreciation after watching the small screen adaptation. "I thought it was just strictly a horror show," Majors said (via USA Today) during the panel. He admitted binge-watching all 10 episodes of season 1 in one sitting and he has nothing but good words for the program.  "I've never seen such horror that comes out so funny," he added.

Majors portrays the character of Brock Williams, Ash's father who is not too happy to reunite with his son. "He left me in the old town to clean up his mess, took away my daughter, closed my business -- nobody wanted to do business with [Ash's father]," Majors told TV Guide. "He comes back [and] we have a real confrontation. I don't like him and I don't want him around." It might take some time before the father and son work out their past conflicts, but Brock's arrival will bring out more emotions from Ash as the season progresses.

Another important figure from Ash's past will be introduced: Linda. Portrayed by Michelle Hurd, Linda is Ash's high school girlfriend who crosses paths with him again. Ash will try to correct his past mistakes by connecting with her again, hoping to rekindle their relationship. According to actor Bruce Campbell, his character may have many wrongdoings but he does not let it define him. "For all of his flaws, he is [the hero] foretold in the book," Campbell explained. "You make fun of him all you want, he's still here to save the world. And I think it's hilarious that's the guy who's gonna do it."
