At the end of "Ash vs Evil Dead" season 1, Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) and his gang were headed to Jacksonville to start anew. His sidekicks were skeptical but Ash could hardly be bothered.

When the mysterious Ruby Knowby (Lucy Lawless) dangled the Jacksonville postcard in Ash's face with the promise of a new life for him and his friends in exchange for getting off her trail, it was a choice between living his dream life or letting his loyal sidekicks kill each other. It was an easy enough choice to make, except that he would now have to suffer through its consequences when "Ash vs Evil Dead" returns for its second season.

Bloody Disgusting has just released first look photos showing what's in store for the Deadite-fighting trio. It looks like they will indeed make it to Jacksonville, Florida, and have a lot of drunken fun while they are there. But owing to the fact that evil has an uncanny way of finding them wherever they go, they will soon find themselves back on Ash's Oldsmobile and headed to Ash's not-so beloved hometown of Elk Grove to try and rid it of its Deadite problems.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Campbell teased that bigger things are about to happen to Ash and his eager apprentices, Pablo Simon Bolivar (Ray Santiago) and Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo).

Pablo will be embarking on a great journey although Campbell did not specify whether it would be a literal or spiritual one. Pablo's uncle, who was a shaman he referred to as El Brujo (Hemky Madera), left him a pendant that seemed to be attuned to the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. And after being possessed by the Necronomicon and almost killing Kelly, for whom he's harboring unrequited affection, what will Pablo's upcoming journey be like? Will he follow in his late uncle's footsteps and thus strengthen his spiritual defenses against the evils of the Necronomicon?

Kelly will also be undergoing a significant change from being a vengeful victim to something "a little bit bigger." Ash himself will grow into his own and finally accept his inevitable destiny as savior of the Deadite-infested world.

Campbell also mentioned in the same interview that "Ash vs Evil Dead" will also be featuring some substantial Easter Eggs and nods to the entire "Evil Dead" franchise. "It's a very fan friendly season coming up," he added.

"Ash vs Evil Dead" will return for its 10-episode second season on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EDT on Starz, while the season 1 DVD will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 19.
