'Arrow' season 5 spoilers, plot news: New villain, character joining the series this Fall as The CW president hints at major DC crossover

"Arrow" season 5 won't make a comeback until this Fall, but fans are already anticipating a reunion between Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) especially after Amell hinted on its possibility.
Amell said that while he still doesn't know "what's gonna happen in season 5," he does know that "they begin season 5 together." He also shared what he thought of Felicity's decision to leave Oliver after finding out that he kept something from her.
"I felt like she was relatively quick to walk away, but she's a fictional character. She can do what she wants," he said.
Amell likewise confirmed that a new villain will be introduced this coming season, and TVLine has reported that this new addition would be loosely inspired by the drug kingpin that Idris Elba played on "The Wire," Stringer Bell.
This new villain will tentatively assume the name Anton Church and is described as a ruthless crime lord who will be filling the void left by H.I.V.E.'s leader, Damien Darhk. The new villain is expected to be an "apex predator" who "cuts his way through the shadows" by taking down "the biggest threat first." "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa is said to be the physical prototype for the character.
Meanwhile, while The CW president Mark Pedowitz would not share any details about the alleged four-night crossover that would involve major DC-branded heroes under the network's umbrella, he did say in an interview with Variety that the network's "annual crossover event this Fall (will) be the biggest one ever."
Since "Supergirl" has found a new home in The CW, fans could expect a four-night crossover that would see Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) joining forces with Oliver, "The Flash," and characters from "Legends of Tomorrow."
"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on The CW sometime in March 2017.
