Deathstroke is one of the characters fans look forward to seeing in the upcoming season 5 of The CW's "Arrow." There are speculations that he will no longer return to the superhero series after Ben Affleck teased that the villain might appear in the upcoming film "Justice League." To set the records straight, "Arrow" lead actor Stephen Arnell gave his take on the matter.

Speaking on a panel for the Salt Lake City Comic-Con, Arnell assured fans that Manu Bennett can still reprise his role in the program if he wishes to. "That [question is] actually something that people bring up on a regular basis...that DC has told us you can't have or you must get rid of [this character]. That's not how that works... Just because there may or may not be a Deathstroke in the DC Extended Universe doesn't mean Manu Bennett can't exist on our show," he explained.

The actor further added that the people on both television and feature sides are "all in the business of making the best products for fans" and no war exists between the two factions.

For the uninitiated, Deathstroke a.k.a. Slade Wilson is considered as one of the biggest baddies in the program. He started off as Oliver Queen's ally on Lian Yu, only to despise and turn against him later in the story. Five years after working as a mercenary, Slade came back to Starling City when he discovered that Oliver had already returned home.

Meanwhile, many fans became upset when Laurel Lance died after her run-in with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). However, star Katie Cassidy announced that her character is set to appear in the upcoming season 5 premiere, most probably in a flashback scene. "And coming up, you will see me in the premiere of Arrow Season 5," she confirmed. Pretty exciting. And I will also be—they announced at Comic-Con, which I'm safe to say—across all three shows: Flash, Legends, and Arrow, for this next year. So, I'm excited about that."

Tune in to "Arrow" season 5 which premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
