"Arrow" season 5 is premiering this October, and based on lead star Stephen Amell's Twitter updates, it looks like fans will be in for a treat this season.

Earlier teasers for the upcoming installment revealed that Oliver Queen (Amell) will be mayor of Star City with his sister Thea as his chief of staff. It was also revealed that much of season 5 will see flashbacks to Oliver's time within Russia.

According to the series' showrunner Wendy Mericle, "Arrow" season 5 will explore Oliver's link to the Russian mafia Bratva, and that one of his arch enemies from his time with the mafia, who will be portrayed by Dolph Lundgren, will figure in most of those flashbacks.

However, just recently, Amell tweeted that he has just wrapped up filming the 97th episode of the series where he played three versions of Oliver. Check out the tweet below.

Amell did not elaborate on what he meant with the tweet. Nevertheless, fans are wondering if the third version of Oliver will have something to do with a third dimension to the aspect of "Arrow's" storyline, which saw Oliver's journey to becoming a superhero and his life as a superhero. Whatever it means, it's probably part of the producers' plan to revive fan interest with the fifth installment after a lukewarm response to season 4.

Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy has confirmed that Laurel Lance/Black Canary will be seen in the premiere episode of "Arrow" season 5. It will be recalled that the character died in season 4, so it remains to be seen how the character will come back.

Comicbook.com caught up with her during the Salt Lake Comic Con the past weekend where she dished on her reaction upon learning that her character will die. However, she did share her excitement over her role in the entire Arrowverse this season.

"Coming up, you will see me in the premiere of 'Arrow' Season 5," she said. "Pretty exciting. And I will also be—they announced at Comic-Con, which I'm safe to say—across all three shows: Flash, Legends, and Arrow, for this next year. So, I'm excited about that."

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
