The CW's hit television series "Arrow" season 4 comes to a close this coming Wednesday, and viewers will see if Oliver will succeed in his plan to stop Damien Darhk with the help of an unexpected team.

In the penultimate episode this week, Darhk's power became stronger, as he is now able to disintegrate arrows and bullets in the air. The stakes are very high for Oliver as he is racing the clock to take down Damien Darhk before he wreaks havoc not only on Star City but on the whole world.

The official synopsis for next week's final episode "Schism" reads:

"Oliver teams up with a surprising force to stop Damien Darhk - Oliver (Stephen Amell) teams up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and his magic once and for all."

On another note, reports say that Thea's internal conflicts will define how the season-ender will take shape, as well as the events in the upcoming season 5. "Thea had bloodlust earlier in the season and since then has been questioning her place on the team, and questioning whether or not she is Speedy, which goes back to her character's struggle with whether she's more of a Queen or a Merlyn," executive producer Wendy Mericle told TV Guide. "She's going to answer that question in [the finale] and come up with, what we hope, is a pretty surprising answer."

Charlotte Ross, who plays Donna Smoak in the series, described the upcoming episode as "intense, painful, shocking and scary." The actress also discussed how everyone is not safe in the finale, saying, "It's very open-ended for many characters — to such a degree that you will have no idea how Season 5 will resume, and which characters may be returning or which characters will be gone for good."

Catch the season 4 finale of "Arrow" which airs on May 25, Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
