While there has been no more news about the purported Aquaman film, Jason Momoa has since spoken about his involvement in it. In his comments, he mentioned how most of the elements in the movie had not been worked out yet and that he didn't even know when shooting would begin. He did, however, mention that production of the film would start sometime in 2016 or 2017, which should provide ample space for post-production special affects before the film debuts in 2018.

Fans were happy to see the scheduled screening of the "Aquaman" movie and many other Warner Bros and DC films. Since then there have been numerous rumors that Aquaman, played by Momoa, will make a screen appearance even sooner than the "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie. Some of the rumors point out that "Kahina Double" was seen written on a trailer present at the set of the film. Since it is name of a person in Aquaman's team, it could mean he is in the movie.

However, Momoa has remained largely silent about his Aquaman role and has not hinted how the character would be tied in with other DC Comic heroes. There is also no news as to whether the stand-alone movie will be an original story or not. According to Cinemablend, the only thing clear is that Aquaman will be included in the Justice League movie which comes out in 2017.

Warner Bros and DC Comics are in the process of building a superhero film franchise. The two both expressed hopes that their collaboration will have the same level of success that Marvel has had. Some of the other movies announced by Warner Bros include "Suicide Squad," "Justice League Part One," "Wonder Woman," "The Flash" and "Shazam."
