The highly anticipated Apple Watch 2 has been rumored to come out later this year; however, many fans were disappointed following Apple's decision to skip the second generation smartwatch at the recently concluded Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016. Nonetheless, Apple fanatics are keeping positive as they still hope for a 2016 release of the device.

According to the latest reports, Apple is carefully planning to add a camera feature on the next generation Apple Watch.

"The camera can be disposed on the front surface of Apple Watch face to capture images of the user," as stated in a report by Patently Apple.

The article continues by saying: "A compact digital camera that includes an image sensor such as a CMOS sensor and optical components (e.g. lenses) arranged to focus an image onto the image sensor, along with control logic operable to use the imaging components to capture and store still and/or video images."

Camera features on smartwatches are nothing new as Samsung has already done it on its Gear series. If rumors prove to be true, users of Apple Watch 2 will have the opportunity to do FaceTime, take Snapchats or even video conference using their wearable device.

The HD camera is said to be placed to the bezel on the front of the smart watch. It will certainly be interesting how fans will dig the new feature.

Meanwhile, previous reports suggested that the new Apple Watch 2 will have its own cellular feature. It will no longer depend on an iPhone device as it already has the ability to make calls and send messages. There are also reports saying that the tech watch will have its own Wi-Fi chip for it to easily connect to the Internet.

As of this moment, Apple has yet to provide significant details regarding its release date. However, fans expect Apple to make an announcement anytime soon.
