Fans are hoping that the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016 will showcase something that they have been hoping for. One of the most anticipated products that are expected to be revealed at the event is the Apple Watch 2.

According to reports, the second iteration of the tech watch is going to be one of the highlights at this year's event. Although nothing is set in stone yet, fans have reasons to believe that Apple will launch the device, along with the upcoming iPhone 7.

However, the Apple Watch is going to be independent from the flagship smartphone. According to reports, the smart watch will have its own cellular capability that allows it to send text messages and make calls.

Many Apple followers are hoping that the upcoming iteration will carry superior specs and features as it needs to catch up in the competition. Other makers such as Samsung and LG have already released their own versions of smartwatches. What's interesting is, their devices already feature cellular capabilities.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition and the Samsung Gear S2 3G sports are said to be doing well in the market today. The next Apple Watch must have something really amazing for it to recapture the top spot in the competition. It would be disappointing for the Apple Watch fanatics if the device will come out anything less than what they expected.

Meanwhile, IT Pro reported that the next Apple Watch may not be revealed until September. The publication also added that it will come in 5 variants â€“ Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch Edition, Apple Watch, and two others that have not been mentioned yet.

These pieces of information are merely just rumors and speculations, which fans should take with a grain of salt. It is best to wait for the company to make an official announcement with regard to the development and release date of the Apple Watch 2.
