Apple iWatch Release Date: Smartwatch Set For Next Month

The Apple Watch is all set to launch with a bang next year, with reports saying that mass production could begin thereafter. This is encouraging news to many Apple aficionados who have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the watch.
News on the start of mass production was first reported by Taiwan's United Daily News which stated that the watch's display and processor have already been produced in large quantities.
The newspaper said Quanta, the company tasked to produce the watch, is expecting demand for the Apple Watch to skyrocket. This has prompted the company to hire additional workers to man the production lines to ensure the initial shipments of the watch are sufficient.
Since the Apple Watch was announced in September of this year, it has been plagued with rumors about production delays. This led many analysts, including Brian Blair at Rosenblatt Securities, to forecast that the earliest mass production could start in the first half of 2015. This means that the earliest release could occur sometime in February 2015.
Blair said only limited quantities of the watch may be released initially before production is ramped up.
Recent emails within Apple have stated that the release could come anytime during spring. With the news that mass production is kicking off, it means that a release date in Spring is also a distinct possibility.
Several analysts forecast that the sales of the Apple Watch could cross 25 million units in its first year. This could be one reason why Apple is not bothered about the pricing of the watch, especially its gold version. The solid gold version of the watch comes in two forms – rose gold and yellow gold – and is expected to cost anywhere up to $5,000.
