Apple Airpod release date, specs rumors: Wireless headphones to possibly be launched next week

After skipping its rumored late October launch, Apple's flashy new AirPods is now reportedly scheduled to be released next week.
According to German site Apfelpage.de, a customer who spoke to an employee at Conrad – an Apple reseller in Germany – was told that the much-hyped headphones will be ready to arrive next Friday, Nov. 17. "I have just talked with an employee of the Conrad Online Store, since I am there on 14.10 the AirPods ordered and I wanted to cancel today [sic]," the source said. "According to information from the employee, they have stockpiles from 17.11, I will then have them between Nov. 18-19."
TechRadar reports that they tried reaching out to Apple for clarification, but the tech giant declined to comment. Obviously, there is no telling if either the supplier or customer is right. However, the publication notes that the rumored release date would make sense as it would be three weeks following the initial delay. Since it falls on a Friday, the launch also checks out because Apply regularly releases its new products on a Friday. The reason behind the delay is yet to be known, but Apple previously announced that the AirPods would only be launched when it's all set for public use.
Still, given that the European reseller claims the AirPods are expected to start shipping in "about 7 weeks" as indicated on its website, there's a possibility that the store employee provided false information to the customer. Therefore, anticipating consumers are advised not to get their hopes up just yet. As for the Apple AirPods' price, Conrad has valued the wireless headphones at €210 (roughly $230). This is reportedly much higher than the price tag Apply previously announced, which is just $159.
