The report added that the device mentioned will get firmware updates during the last quarter of this year. Other devices such as Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will not receive the Android N update until next year.
Dave Burke, Google's VP of engineering for Android, said that the new software will be rolled out at the end of summer. All Android smartphones and tablets eligible for the update will get the new software later this year.
According to CNET, Nexus devices are getting the Android N beta version through over-the-air. However, Nexus users must take note that the current version of the software is just for testing, which could present potential bugs and glitches. According to the publication, Java 8 language support and Extra power efficiency are just one of the many added features of the new Android N OS.
