Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Release Date: Nexus, HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Await Download

As we step into 2015, more Android users are expecting the roll out of the recently released Android 5.0 Lollipop. We've seen a number of updates—the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop—heightening the anxiety of users who want to get these updates on their phones.
Over the past months, we've seen Lollipop enhancing a number of different devices around the world. Let's take a look where Android 5.0 is at right at this moment. We've put together some of the latest updates for those of you who own a Nexus, HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sony.
Nexus
Nexus was the first ever brand to receive the Android 5.0 update. This should be quite obvious since Nexus is owned by Google, which develops Android. Devices that have been loaded with Lollipop include the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi, Nexus 9, and Nexus 10.
HTC
HTC devices that have received the updates include the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, Google Play Editions. This year, HTC has announced that the regular HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 models will also be receiving the updates.
LG
As for LG, the G3 has received updates for users in Poland, Korea and the United Kingdom. LG has kept mum about their updates. Hence, it's not clear which phone will be getting the update next, or when it will be rolled out in the United States.
Motorola
Motorola was one of those that first got the Android 5.0 for its Moto X. The company does not have specific release dates for its other phones.
Samsung
As of the moment, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the only Samsung device where the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been rolled out. But the update is expected to come soon to Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Sony
The company has announced that its phones will also be receiving the latest Android OS. The devices include Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Not one of Sony's devices has been updated yet to Android 5.0, but a roll-out is expected in a few weeks.
