Android 5.0 Lollipop Update on Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10: Latest News, New Features, Review
The new Android OS 5.0 Lollipop update will come to the Nexus 5, 7 and 10 sometime this week. With this comes a flurry of information about new features and bugs.

The first major point is that the update is going to roll out on the air for some devices such as the Nexus 5, 7, 9 and 10. However, when the update arrives it will be dependent on carriers.
PC World reports that AT&T will not be rolling out the update this week. Instead it will provide several other updates. Some other carriers have already rolled out the update on the 13th of this week to the Nexus 7, and some wireless only devices are getting the update faster.
With any update to OS software comes a host of problems. Gottabemobile has a list of encountered glitches when updating to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Among the problems that Nexus 5, 7, and 10 users are experiencing are sluggish Wi-Fi, stalled or completely cut connections, and considerable lag after the installation of some apps.
Another bug leads to a total crash of the OS when it is plugged in for charging.
There is also an error message that comes up on the Nexus 9 when a bug fix is installed. Users are solving most of these problems by checking the forums dedicated to Google Nexus, where moderators are providing helpful tips.
An important feature of the new Android OS is that once devices are updated, all recent searches, photos and apps will contain all preexisting information. Also of note is that the OS is compatible with a variety of Android devices including smartwatches and TVs. The Material design interface provides a 3D appearance.
There is also a new battery saver setting in the OS which can be used to extend the life of batteries by 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Android Smart Lock allows for automatic and secure unlocking of an Android device, once it is placed near another trusted device that is Bluetooth- or NFC-enabled.
