The latest Android Lollipop rollout to LG L90 has started in India. The rollout will go global very shortly, the International Business Times reported.

"This means that LG L90 owners would need to check their smartphones for newer over-the-air update notifications, which could very well be the Android Lollipop firmware upgrade," The Times report said.

Weighing about 780 MB, the update brings several new improvements, including the new Material Design user interface that offer features like fluid animations, more colorful themes as well as impressive 3D Views.

Handsets with the Lollipop OS will have a new lock screen notification control, which will allow users to view and reply to new messages directly even if the screen is still locked.

New features also include the ability to make sensitive content discreet by adjusting the settings for the notifications.

Once LG L90 users upgrade their devices to the Google Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, they can also extend their battery life by as much as 90 minutes.

They can talk to Google on the go if they need to get quick information about something such as directions, weather, among others.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update also includes multiple language support, including 15 languages in the Indian region such as Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

LG released the L90 smartphone, which comes with a Snapdragon 400 chipset and an 8-megapixel primary camera, in March last year.
