A couple of Android device manufacturers have already confirmed the availability of the Android 5.0 update on their units.

The first to announce was Google, of course. It confirmed that Android 5.0 L will be available on its Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 tablets which will be released this November.

The update on Nexus 7 Wi-Fi and Nexus 10 tablet will only be available on Nov. 3 while the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones will receive their update this month.

Motorola has also confirmed the new Android update on its devices. According to Motorola, the 2013 and 2014 models of Moto X already have the update. The Moto G, Moto G LTE and Moto E, together with the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini, will soon have the new Lollipop update as well.

However, the manufacturing company did not disclose the chronological timeline when these devices will receive the update. It simply said the information will be disclosed once the Lollipop update becomes available for download.

Sony has its own Xperia Z line for the Lollipop update. Here are the list of the Xperia smartphones and tablets that will receive the Android update: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Meanwhile, Samsung is still tight-lipped on the Lollipop update. It has mentioned though that the very first device that will have the update is its Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.
