Amy Duggar, niece to reality show couple Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has spoken out regarding the recent molestation scandal involving her cousin Josh, saying she was not a victim of the incident that took place over 10 years ago.

Duggar, who recently became engaged to fiancé Dillon King, recently told People magazine that she did not know of Josh Duggar's alleged molestation scandal until the news became public earlier this year.

"I didn't know about it," Amy told the magazine recently, adding that the news "It took me by surprise."

Duggar went on to say that she was not a victim of Josh's actions, telling the media outlet: "I was not part of it at all."

"I wasn't anywhere near any of that," she continued, adding that she believes she and the rest of the Duggar clan have moved on beyond the scandal that rocked the reality show family and cost them their show "19 Kids and Counting" on TLC.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Josh Duggar had molested multiple underage girls, including some family members, ten years ago when he was 14 and 15 years old.

The scandal caused TLC to cancel the Duggar's "19 Kids and Counting" show, with the family releasing a statement on their website that read: "With God's grace and help Josh, our daughters and our entire family overcame a terrible situation, found healing and a way forward. We are so pleased with the wonderful adults they have all become."

"It is our prayer that the painful situation our family went through many years ago can point people toward faith in God and help others who also have lived through similar dark situations to find help, hope and healing, as well," the family wrote on their website Thursday," the Duggar family added.
