'American Horror Story' season 6 spoilers, news: Series creator Ryan Murphy teases more seasons; Rotten Tomato accidentally reveals title?

FX's hit thriller drama "American Horror Story" will be returning to the small screen in just a matter of weeks, but details on the upcoming sixth season are still shrouded in mystery. However, movie ratings website Rotten Tomato may have accidentally revealed the show's new title.
As Metro points out, the series is currently listed as "American Horror Story: The Mist" in the said website. Coincidentally, one of the many season 6 teasers released by the network for season 6 is also titled "The Mist," which is a 16-second clip showing a strange creature crawling towards the camera. If the trailer indeed represents the season 6 theme, it would go against previous reports claiming that the premiere will center on one of the trailers listed on the show's website - which does not include "The Mist" in the lineup.
On the subject of keeping season 6 under wraps, series creator Ryan Murphy explained that it was part of their plan to do something different this year. "John Landgraf [of FX] and Dana Walden [of Fox TV Group] and I were talking, and the show is in its sixth season, and we've always done everything by the book," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Come January or February I announce what the theme is, and then we announce the cast. We wanted to [create a] different experience for the fans this year. But that doesn't mean we'll do that for season seven or even season eight."
Although FX still has yet to renew "American Horror Story," Murphy hinted that it could go on for multiple seasons and have its own "inner mythology" similar to popular horror anthology series "The Twilight Zone." "I'll keep doing it for as long as we have the ideas and the momentum. I really love doing it," he added.
"American Horror Story" season 6 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 14 on FX.
