'American Horror Story' season 6 air date, cast news: Lady Gaga to return for season 6

In a few days, the sixth season of the anthology horror TV show "American Horror Story" will be returning to the small screen. After weeks of speculations, fans will finally know the upcoming season's theme which FX network has desperately tried to conceal.
The network recently released a 30-second trailer which was a compilation of all the promos they have released so far. The teaser was titled "Illusion", and Lady Gaga's newest single "Perfect Illusion" was befitting as its background music.
Rumor has it that the singer-turned-actress will be making a comeback in the forthcoming season. But like most of the details, Lady Gaga's role remains a mystery.
Sources say that "The People v. O.J Simpson: American Crime Story" actor Cuba Gooding Jr. will reportedly guest star next season. He has yet to confirm the recent speculation.
The network has uploaded over 20 different trailers for season 6. Each video has its own theme, its own creepy vibe and its own possible antagonist.
As previously reported, a number of the trailers are legitimate clues about the sixth season, while the rest are purely to mislead the audience. FX CEO John Landgraf asked the marketing team to create several plausible trailers for season six. The CEO divulged this marketing stunt at the summer press tour of Television Critics' Association.
Moreover, Rotten Tomatoes recently posted a TV Guide that featured "American Horror Story: The Mist" on the list. Speculators suggest that the guide could have been real and that "The Mist" could be next season's theme. The post was deleted shortly after it was uploaded to the site.
Fans don't need to wait that long to confirm their speculations about the sixth season of "American Horror Story." The show will return to FX on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10 p.m. EDT.
