'American Horror Story' Freak Show Spoilers: Series Sees Bloodbath
A bloodbath took place in the last episode of "American Horror Story," which is now on its fifth season on FX.
Last Wednesday's episode centered around the freak show in the town of Jupiter, Florida, which saw a number of deaths.
The most sensational of these deaths was that of Ethel Darling (Kathy Bates). It happened because she wrongly suspected Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) of killing Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge). Ethel pointed a gun at Elsa and shot her in the leg.
It was then revealed that Elsa lost her real legs during the making of a snuff film and that she has been wearing prosthetics since then.
The two former friends later shared a drink of schnapps, after which Elsa threw a knife at Ethel, fatally hitting her in the eye.
To cover up Ethel's death, Elsa recruited Stanley (Denis O'Hare) to help her stage a suicide. She then conveniently stage-managed Ethel's alleged suicide. She even asked Maggie (Emma Roberts) to "witness" the death of Ethel who supposedly drove into a tree with a chain around her neck, decapitating her.
Elsa then traveled to Miami to recruit a new member. She convinced a morbidly obese woman to return with her.
Meanwhile, back to the freak show, another murder was being hatched as Desiree (Angela Bassett) and others prepared to tar, feather and eventually kill the father of Penny (Grace Gummer) for physically abusing his daughter and having her face and tongue tattooed. The plan did not push through as Maggie convinced them not to do it.
Focus in the episode then shifted to the trouble between Dandy (Finn Wittrock)and his mother Gloria (Frances Conroy). Trouble started because she wanted a psychiatrist to commit Dandy to a mental institution as she believed that he had a tendency to kill people. This led to the psychiatrist meeting with Dandy, and he eventually figured out that Gloria wanted him committed to a mental asylum. This led him to kill her own mother and even literally bathing her in her own blood.
