The latest Polaris GPU will be made available for different memory configurations. Specifically, there will be two versions of Radeon RX 480 for 4 GB and 8 GB memory configuration.

According to Engadget, the AMD GPU's will be released towards the end of the month, and the price will not be as expensive as the other competitor graphics cards in the market. Radeon RX 480 is expected to go against Nvidia's own powerful GPU. While Nvidia's GTX 1070 is set at $380 unit price, the Radeon RX 480 will be sold at only $199. Nvidia's higher quality video card, GTX 1080, can be purchased for $600.

It should be noted, however, that the Radeon RX 480 will be sold at $199 for the 4 GB memory configuration. For the higher 8 GB memory configuration, the RX 480 version will have a higher selling price that is around $29 to $39 more expensive than the 4 GB version, WCCF Tech reported. Aside from the advanced graphics technology, the new AMD Polaris graphics card may also sport a different cooling mechanism or custom PCBs depending on AMD's manufacturing partner. As these GPUs are already customized with add-ons, they are expected to be more expensive.

The Radeon RX 480 will be the perfect graphics card to support virtual reality gaming. It is expected to work perfectly with VR headsets such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Still, the consumers can still enjoy the product's cheaper price while also being satisfied by its performance. With this, more gamers will be interested in trying VR-supported video games because of the affordable GPU requirement.
