Amazon Prime Day 2016 sales: Best tech deals for July 12 discounts
On Tuesday, July 12, Amazon is holding its second annual Prime Day, its biggest shopping event, during which it will be offering deals on more than 100,000 items over the course of 24 hours. Prime Day deals are available exclusively for Amazon Prime members.
Prime Day will officially commence at 12 a.m. PT. While some deals will be available all day long, others will only be valid for a limited time. New deals are expected to pop up as often as every five minutes. Only Amazon Prime members in the U.S., the U.K., Japan, Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Italy, and Canada can access the sales.
Amazon.com consumers who don't have Prime memberships can sign up for a free 30-day trial of the service, which typically costs $99 per year or $10.99 per month. This year's Prime Day is said to offer even more sales than last year's, in which Amazon reportedly sold more than 34.4 million items and saw a 266% increase in worldwide orders compared to the same day in the previous year.
Because of the success of its first Prime Day, Amazon appears to be kicking things up a notch this year.
"Following last year's record sales, we have dramatically increased the inventory behind many deals," Greg Greeley, vice president of Amazon Prime, said in a statement, as quoted by Yahoo! Finance.
According to the company's press release, Prime Day 2016 will highlight deals on electronics such as TVs, headphones, computers, cameras, wearable tech, and the like.
Tech deals
The Philips HDP1690/F7 Screeneo LED projector with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI connectivity, and 3D technology in black is at $1299.99, $200 cheaper than its list price.
The Xbox One 500GB console - Name Your Game Bundle, which retails at $299.99, is now only $275.95.
The RIF6 Cube 2-inch mobile projector with 20,000-hour LED Light and 120-inch display, which is portable, rechargeable, and includes HDMI cables and a tripod, is only $290.06 from $299.
