Although the tablet market today is obviously dominated by major players such as Apple and Samsung, other companies like Alcatel has slowly made its presence felt. Their upcoming release is the Alcatel Xess. It has already been announced and the device will roll out on April 22 for $499.

The table is going to be good for people who are tired of smaller tablets that are currently available in the market. Alcatel Xess looks more like a PC in terms of its size than a tablet. According to reports, this tablet can control most appliances in a house such as the household electronic devices. It can work as a kitchen hub and an entertainment device at the same time. This gadget is definitely an all-in-one tech machine, which is a good choice for people who want to control most of their appliances at home with just one remote device.

The North American president of Alcatel, Steve Cistulli, recently said that the company's goal is to bring a device that can provide users a better life experience.

"We've been committed as a company to expanding the reach of our consumer technology and how it can bring better experiences and value to the lives of our customers, and with Xess, we're delivering a meaningful connected kitchen hub that allows users to access more of the content they want and need," Cistulli said.

Meanwhile, Alcatel Xess is loaded with impressive specs. It will be powered by a 64 bit 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8783T processor, along with its 3 GB of RAM for multitasking. It will also carry a 32 GB on board storage capacity, which will be expandable up to 64 GB using a microSD card. The screen size is a whopping 17.3 inches and it will boast a 10000 mAh battery for optimal usage. Its impressive screen size also carries a 1920 X 1080 pixels full HD resolution.
