Al Qaeda Executes Three Men As 'Spies' Aiding U.S. Drone Strikes

The al Qaeda terrorist organization has executed three local men in Yemen after claiming they were aiding the U.S. in drone strikes.
The al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula [AWAP], considered to be one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world, announced Monday that it had executed three local men in the Hadramout province for allegedly putting trackers on certain sites in Yemen to aid U.S. drones.
The unmanned aircraft usually needs a tracker to accurately strike its target, Reuters reported.
"The greatest help they give to the crusaders against the holy warriors is the placing of trackers for American spy planes," the AQAP said of the alleged spies who were executed.
This recent execution comes after the Islamic State, an offshoot of al Qaeda, executed American photojournalist James Foley earlier in August, allegedly as retribution for the U.S. airstrikes in Iraq.
The terrorist organization, which has been gaining power in Iraq and eastern Syria, warned of more executions of American hostages should the airstrikes continue.
Although Yemen's al Qaeda base has often been dubbed the most dangerous terrorist organization on the planet, U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said last week that the Islamic State is in fact more dangerous than al Qaeda.
"They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They're tremendously well-funded. This is beyond anything that we've seen," Hagel told reporters at the Pentagon last Thursday. adding that "the sophistication of terrorism and ideology married with resources now poses a whole new dynamic and a new paradigm of threats to this country."
