Air Jordan 5 'Olympic' release date, specs news: Fans eagerly await latest Air Jordans

With so much attention going to OG colorways of the Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan 5 is set to release a pair that pays homage to the best of the best in the coming 2016 Rio Olympics.

And naturally, when the Olympics come to mind, everyone's goal is to get the gold medal and Jordan Brand understands that so they are set to release the Air Jordan 5 "Olympic" by Aug. 13.

Early photos of the pair show that the retro is predominantly made up of a white leather upper with the accents and hits setting things off.

Easily the most noticeable are the gold tongues that represent the best during the Summer Games.

Aside from the tongue, gold can also be seen on certain parts of the midsole and even the shark teeth on the shoe's lateral side.

Hits of black can be seen around the top-most eyelets and the midsole as well to give it a good contrast, while the bottom is the usual blue icy sole that has been synonymous with the silhouette.

Along the side panels of the shoe will be clear plastic panels that will help keep the shoe's clean colorway.

This is the first time that the Jordan Brand will be releasing this colorway so there should be some mixed reviews regarding this as some really rely on getting the original colors of the shoe. Yet, as the release date gets closer, expect more photos of this shoe and expect a lot of people to eventually cop the pair and rock them just in time for the Olympics.

The price of the pair is set at $190, but looking at the quality and build of the shoe it may be worth it as it could be an important part of one's shoe collection.
