"Agents of SHIELD" wrapped up its third season with a lot of action, heartbreaks and emotional deaths. With season 4 arriving this Fall, fans will see the fate of the rest of the crew along with new enemies to be introduced.

The season 3 finale featured a six-month time jump after Hive (Brett Dalton) was defeated, and it was revealed that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) stepped down as the director of SHIELD. The person who will replace Coulson is yet to be named, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it could be Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). An ex-SHIELD agent, Maria also became a Deputy Director under Fury's leadership for quite a long time before Hydra got a hold of SHIELD. After working for the government, she decided to return as a private individual and work alongside Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Maria also worked with the Avengers in their new facility located in upstate New York, but since she always wanted to do her part in saving the world, her return to SHIELD as the new Director is not far from reach. She is easy to work with because of her right morals and attitude, and most importantly, everyone trusts her.

On another note, casting is currently underway for three new characters, including a life-model decoy (LMD) named Aida. She is a robot who is "very attractive" and has natural movements, but she speaks in a formal manner. According to TV Line, she can be likened to Tony Stark/Iron Man's highly advanced computerized artificial intelligence JARVIS. Two Latino brothers will also be on board, one is paralyzed while one is highly dangerous. There are speculations that the pair is connected to Ghost Rider, but the network has yet to confirm if this is true.
