Actor Chris Pratt Says Birth of Premature Son 'Restored My Faith In God'

Actor Chris Pratt said in a recent interview that the birth of his premature son restored his faith in God.
Pratt, who is married to actress Anna Farris, told People Magazine that he and his wife "prayed a lot" when their son, Jack, was born premature in August 2012 and was forced to stay in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit for a month.
"We were scared for a long time. We prayed a lot," Pratt, who stars in the upcoming film "Guardians of the Galaxy," recently told People.
"It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it," the actor continued. "The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect."
The 35-year-old actor, who also stars in the NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation," added in an interview with Panzer TV that he hopes his new role as Peter "Star-Lord" Quill in the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" will help change the lives of sick children, saying he still has his costume from the movie and plans to wear it to hospitals to surprise ailing kids.
"I stole the jacket and some of the wardrobe so that, if this movie comes out and does what everyone hopes it can, I can follow the example of someone — say, like, a Russell Wilson — and go visit kids," the actor said, referencing the Seattle Seahawks quarterback who often visits Seattle-area hospitals when he's not playing football.
"If it was a big enough movie to where it would mean something to a kid who's sick in the hospital for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them, I'll do that. I think that's awesome, man. That would give me real meaning for this movie, you know?"
Pratt's new film "Guardians of the Galaxy" comes out this Friday.
