'5 Seconds of Summer' band members has no plans of splitting up

It is not surprising to hear news that a highly successful and famous boy band will part ways to take on different career paths of their own. This is the case that happened with NSYNC when Justin Timberlake was the first to make the move to have his own singing career. The most recent case of a boy band member leaving his group to be a solo artist is when Zayn Malik left One Direction and released his album earlier this year. However, this not the case for 5 Seconds of Summer as they maintained that they will be continue performing as one group.
In a press conference held in Malaysia reported in Star2, a member of the press raised a question if there is anyone in the group, composed of Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin, who is planning to make a solo album without the presence of his fellow bandmates. It made a quiet and awkward atmosphere for some time, until a 5SOS finally stood up and answered the question.
"We're not really into that. It's not really important to us yet. Fair enough," Ashton Irwin, the 21-year old drummer of the group, said to dismiss any rumors of the band splitting up. This statement of Irwin was followed by a unanimous agreement from the rest of his 5SOS bandmates.
5 Seconds of Summer did not start their journey as bandmates as they have already started building a strong bond since high school, and on 2011, then-high school buddies marked their first step to fame when they posted an acoustic cover of Chris Brown's hit song "Next to You." This video received millions of views and praised by many people. This was followed by many amazing covers until one time that the group posted their original score, "Gotta Get Out." This song not only captured the hearts of their fans but also One Direction member Louis Tomlinson himself. Tomlinson confessed that he was a fan of the band. It followed that 5SOS became a supporting act for One Direction in "Take Me Home" tour in 2013.
