4GB RAM Coming To Mobile Devices Courtesy Of Samsung

Samsung is making sure that when it comes to increasing the RAM on smartphones and other mobile devices they are going to be the trailblazers. The South Korean tech giant has started mass production of the 8 GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM which is capable of creating a 4 GB package.
The announcement that Samsung was pushing the 8 GB LPDDR4 chip into production was made on the blog run by company. The 8 GB LPDDR4 chip is described by Samsung as an "industry first." Samsung said "low power double data rate 4 (LPDDR4) mobile DRAM is based on its leading-edge 20-nanometer (nm) process technology."
Samsung also stated that after starting production on the new DRAM, which is faster than any other DRAM used in PCs and other devices, it plans to "launch UHD, large-screen flagship mobile devices capable of continuous shooting of high-resolution images with over 20 megapixels."
Elaborating on this statement, Joo Sun Choi, who is currently executive vice president of Samsung's Memory Sales and Marketing department, said "we will continue to collaborate with global mobile device manufacturers to create next generation DRAM solutions, for mobile OS environments."
With this, Samsung looks set to roll out the new 4GB RAM to its partners early next year. It could even lead to the announcement of new devices with the enhanced RAM during the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
Among the smartphones that could arrive with the enhanced RAM is the Galaxy S6. Earlier this year, it was rumored that the S6 would feature the 4GB RAM. Now several websites are stating that Samsung seems to have confirmed this particular rumor by announcing production of the RAM.
TechRadar says that since the RAM will only consume around 1.1V it is destined to become the best RAM for supersized smartphones and tablets, as it will increase performance while keeping power consumption low.
