Greg Laurie preaches God's assurances to troubled hearts at Harvest Georgia 2016

Around 4,000 people came to hear Pastor Greg Laurie speak and 363 people accepted Christ at the Harvest Crusade 2016 in Georgia last Friday.

The three-night event was held in Georgia for the first time at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth. Apart from those who attended, the event was viewed by 4,000 people online that same night. It featured musical performances from Chris Tomlin, Lecrae, Third Day and Phil Wickham.

The pastor spoke about the troubles many Americans were facing today including Islamic terrorism and Russian aggression. He assured the people that God loved them and Christ will forgive them regardless of how many sins they have committed.

"You can change your eternal address tonight, if you put your faith in Jesus Christ," said Laurie.

Laure proceeded to read from John 14:1-6 which partly stated: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you."

The pastor noted that most Americans believe in God but he asked the audience whether they "believe in Him in a personal way"?

He stated that many people were worried just like the disciples were when Jesus Christ was crucified. He explained that Jesus had turned the worst tragedy into the greatest victory and he could do the same for the people today.

He went on to assure the people that heaven is a real place where people will be able to do real things. "It will surpass your wildest dreams," he added.

Laurie said that Jesus will be coming back to earth soon and that everyone would account to God for their lives.

"But there is only one road that leads to heaven and that's Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again from the dead," Laurie proclaimed.

The pastor asked the audience to repent and invite Christ into their lives.

By the end of the week, the Harvest website reported that a total of 12,500 people have attended and watched the event online. 1,052 have made the decision to accept Christ.

Over 5.6 million people have attended and more than 476,000 have decided to follow Christ at the Harvest events since 1990.
