Ark Encounter among 'the greatest Christian outreaches of this era,' says Ken Ham
Ken Ham, the CEO and president of the Answers in Genesis (AIG) and the Creation Museum, is thrilled as the official launch for the Ark Encounter draws closer. Previews reveal what he believes is "one of the greatest Christian outreaches of this era."
"I'm thrilled to announce that one month today the most authentic re-creation of Noah's Ark in the world opens to public at the Ark Encounter, and it will be a great reminder of God's Word and the gospel," the Young Earth Creationist wrote on his Facebook page Wednesday, June 8.
He also reminded his followers that the official launch is set on July 7 for those who want to ride on the shuttle bus for what he considers "a voyage of discovery."
Ham likened his project to the likes of Universal Studios in Florida and Disney World. He has also promised in his Ark Encounter website that the Ark will be nothing short of the original one. Just as stated in the Bible, Ham described the Ark to be an engineering marvel spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. He also kept the website up-to-date with photos and videos of the ongoing project.
Although God promised that there will be no flood again similar to that of Noah's time, Ham explained that the next judgment that will be brought about by God's wrath will be by fire. The creationist added that in order to save the people the next time around, what is needed is not another Noah's Ark but what his project symbolizes.
"More than ever, people need to discover the truth of God's Word beginning in Genesis and the saving gospel of the New Testament. That is especially true today for teens and millennials (including those inside the church)," he wrote on his blog back in February.
Ham's aim is to use the life-size Ark for further spreading the gospel.
