There are a few things better than having items for free and even gaming consoles understand that. With the Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox at the helm of console gaming, it is often down to the perks of having one console over the other that determine where a consumer places his money.

For Xbox users, the Live Gold membership gives one access to the monthly free games. Now more titles for June have been unveiled for those who are in need of new titles to play.

Trying to do one better than their rivals, Microsoft gives its Xbox Live Gold members exciting free games at the start and second half of every month.

And with June currently in its second half, Xbox Live Gold members now have new titles to choose from.

The members previously had three games that they could get for free, including "Costume Quest 2" which was available from May 16 to June 15.

"Goat Simulator" was initially slated to be available for the entire month, but according to GameSpot it will revert back to its $9.99 price tag.

On the other hand, "The Crew," originally priced at $30 on Xbox One, is now free from June 16 to July 15.

Xbox 360 users had "Super Meat Boy" for the first half of the month, while "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" is given for free in the second half of the month.

With that in mind, bigger titles are now available for users to download and enjoy. "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" was initially for sale for $40 but is now free, so fans using the older console should surely pick up a copy.

Meanwhile, "The Crew" is a game released in 2014 and garnered relatively positive reviews. Race car enthusiasts should be able to have hours and hours of gameplay with this title.

Xbox continues to push customers to subscribe to their Xbox Live Gold membership, and with the perks of being a member, it is difficult to stay away from it for too long.
