We have seen James McAvoy portray the younger version of Professor Xavier in two previous instalments of X-Men, namely "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Charles Xavier or Professor X, the telepathic mutant and leader of the X-men, has been famously played by Patrick Stewart in all his bald glory. In the next X-Men movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse," McAvoy completes his transformation to the Professor X we all know and love, and yes, he will be shown sans any hair.

Director Bryan Singer posted in Instagram a photo of McAvoy's new look, captioning it, "Xavier reborn."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be set in the 1980s and will feature many new mutants, including Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

It will also star Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, the major villain in the movie. Who is Apocalypse, and what are his powers? Apocalypse is known to have superhuman strength, which means he can handle tons of weight. He also has superhuman stamina, seemingly immune to fatigue and near invulnerability, amplified by the enhancements granted him by the Celestials.

Apocalypse has the ability to manipulate the molecules of his body. He can shape-shift, similar to what Mystique can do. He can alter his size and turn his limbs into different kinds of weapons. He can also manipulate energy. He can absorb various kinds of energy to augment his own speed and strength to higher levels. He can use energy to generate force fields or to project outward as weapons.

Apocalypse has shown some telekinetic ability, which he can use to fly. He also has the ability to teleport himself and others. He is basically immortal. He doesn't age and can enter a comatose stage to regenerate from almost any wound. His blood can rewrite another organism's DNA and can interface with technology, meaning his existence can continue outside of his own physical form.

Apocalypse will sure make for a very worthy adversary for the X-Men. It would be interesting just how the team will measure up in terms of defeating him.

The film will be shown in theaters on May 27, 2016.
