WWDC 2016: Apple announces new, improved features for iOS 10
It's a big day for Apple and their fans as they kicked off the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, June 13 and revealed their plans for the future of their mobile phones.
For the upcoming iOS 10, Apple announced that there are a lot of features one can do to the phone that can make life a lot easier for users.
Among all its best features, one of the highlights is the messaging app. Users have long been fond of the iMessage that Apple provides and they use it as a primary means of communication.
This time, Apple has introduced a more interactive way through which people can communicate, with Siri as a big help. Now, Siri can suggest answers to easily send out messages. For example, if somebody asks a user where they are, Siri will immediately suggest different places for the user.
Links are now also going to be previewed within the app. Instead of showing the link itself as words, the message app will now show a preview within the messaging app as well, making everything seamless.
There are also other features like emojis taking center stage and being bigger than usual, adding fun to the app.
Another great feature is the lock screen. Continuing with their wish to make things even more interactive, the phone now wakes up every time it senses that the user is lifting it. It is called the Rise to Wake feature.
For those using the iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus, there is a 3D Touch feature that lets the user reply through the lock screen without needing to open the messages app.
Apple Music was also a big update for users as the interface has changed to make it much easier to navigate around. Even the Now Playing screen looks different and offers an attractive look for the users.
Finally, Maps are finally improving and it seems that Apple can now contend with the likes of Google. They are now more proactive and will always suggest a better and faster alternative where possible.
These are only a few additions that Apple has announced, so stay tuned for more updates as the iOS 10 rolls on.
