'UnREAL' season 2 spoilers, updates: Rachel's 'fall' imminent? Someone's crashing the 'Everlasting' set?
The recent episode of "UnREAL" season 2, which saw her being struck by an enraged ex-boyfriend, could spell the beginning of Rachel's meltdown. At least, that's what Shiri Appleby, who portrays the character, told an online publication.
Appleby recently talked to TV Line to discuss her directorial debut for the series in which she and Constance Zimmer (as Quinn) star. Appleby directed episode 6 titled "Casualty," and in that episode, she took on three different storylines, one of which was Rachel's. Asked how her character would handle Jeremy's (Josh Kelly) attack, she said it could be indicative of Rachel's meltdown.
"It affects her whole being. She's kind of knocked over in a certain direction, and subsequent things continue to happen to her. The second half of this season is really asking the question, 'How much can a person take? And how do you get control over your life?'" Appleby told the publication.
Appleby also said that Rachel's recent experience would not bring her and Quinn back together as a team. She said, "There's still a few more things that need to happen, but then they come back together." In the case of Coleman (Michael Rady), the actress said that what Rachel's dealing with would make her decide "how much of herself" she's willing to expose to her current beau.
Meanwhile, someone's apparently going to crash "Everlasting," "UnReal's" reality show-within-a-show according to Carter Matt.
"Quinn interferes with Rachel and Coleman's new relationship; Darius decides to take a break from the show with Romeo; and Rachel makes a decision with dangerous consequences. Meanwhile, an unexpected visitor stops by the set," read the synopsis.
Could the unexpected visitor be Adam Cromwell (Freddie Stroma)? There have been earlier reports that the "Harry Potter" actor will return to the show for a one-episode reprisal of his former character. Viewers of the series know that Rachel and Adam were once an item, although they running off into the sunset together wasn't in the blueprint.
On the other hand, Quinn sticking her nose in Rachel's current relationship with Coleman shouldn't be surprising anymore, considering she makes a living off creating problems for others and meddling in the affairs of other people.
"UnREAL" season 2 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
