'The Originals' season 4 updates, spoilers: Keelin to hook up with a Mikaelson? Damon and Stefan crossing over to New Orleans?

The CW still hasn't given an official word yet concerning "The Originals" season 4's premiere, but if speculations are to be believed, it could air anytime between this fall and early 2017. Regardless, it looks like fans would have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season.

For one, it seems Christina Moses will be reprising her role as Keelin in the fourth run of "The Originals." Fans know her as the smart emergency room doctor who also happens to be the last living werewolf in her line. She also happens to be bisexual.

According to Deadline, Keelin will start an affair with one of the Mikaelson brothers. Since some reports point to Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) as inflicting harm on Keelin for unknown reasons, there's a possibility that Klaus won't be among Keelin's choices. That leaves Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) as her possible love interest.

Meanwhile, Latin Times reported that the time jump happening in "The Originals" season 4 could bring with it Damon and Stefan Salvatore (played by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, respectively).

Right now, the appearance of both "The Vampire Diaries" stars is pure speculation, although it has been previously reported that Somerhalder is leaving "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 to join the fourth season of its spin-off series, "The Originals."

Another familiar face set to grace the upcoming fourth season is Claire Holt, who was part of the original cast of the show as Rebekah Mikaelson. She had to leave in the second season to pursue other things but has since appeared on the show recurrently. Holt reprised her role briefly in the season 3 finale to help her siblings stop Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis).

Talking to Access Hollywood, Holt said she's open to the idea of reprising her role for "The Originals" season 4.

"We sort of left it open-ended at the end of last season," she said of the season 3 finale. "If all goes to plan, Rebekah will be back."

Even Davina (Danielle Campbell) who is currently "dead" in the series could be brought back to life in season 4.
